Buying a Computer for College

It is close to impossible to go through college without a computer. I am graduating from high school soon, so I decided to do some research to find one that is best for me. This is where I will create and store my assignments, so it is very important to find a laptop that can fit my every need. There are so many factors that go into looking for a computer. I need to consider battery life, storage, price, and more because buying a laptop is one of the most crucial parts of preparing for college. So how are you supposed to know what the best one is?

The MacBook Air M1 is a 13.3-inch, retina display laptop that has a top rating for students on numerous websites. This computer was created by Apple and uses the Big Sur version of the macOS, or mac operating system. This operating system amplifies the display and is one of the most advanced systems in the world. The MacBook processor is a 1.1GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 with a Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz and a 4MB L3 cache. This high-speed processor allows the laptop to perform at a very high level and is 60% faster than previous Apple laptops. The MacBook Air M1 has 2 options for storage and the price will vary depending on the amount you want. On the Apple website, the 256GB is listed at $999.00 and the 512GB is at $1,249.00. The increase is storage does come with a cost, but it may be worth it depending on how and how much you plan to use the computer. This laptop also has a battery that will keep up with the late nights of doing homework. It is a 49.9 watt-hour battery that can last up to 15 hours. This laptop also features the Apple T2 Security Chip that has some of the most secure boot processes and storage of almost any other laptop.

Apple is one of my favorite technology brands for so many reasons. They are reliable, good quality, and worth the price. So, when I started looking for a computer, the first place I looked was Apple. There were many options to choose from, but the MacBook Air M1 seemed to be the best for me. This is because of the many reasons I listed above. It is one of the top-rated laptops for college students. It has a battery life that is guaranteed to last me all day long when I am going to numerous classes, work, and using it for entertainment. The newer operating system has a very advanced display, and the processor is very high speed. Also, the light weight will make it very easy to carry around with all my textbooks. When it comes to price and storage, I decided on the 256GB because it allows me to have plenty of storage for files while sticking to a lower cost. Apple is a more “top-of-the-line” computer, so the higher cost is reasonable considering all its capabilities.
