It is difficult picking a recipe that is not only effortless but something everyone will enjoy. Well, fruit pizza is the perfect dessert for any event. It is super quick and simple to prepare and a very fresh option that most people be able to enjoy. This recipe is also very customizable because you can pick the fruit topping, the type of frosting you use, and whether or not you want to make the dough homemade or store-bought. This dish can also be made gluten or dairy free depending on the crust and frosting you use.

The first step in making fruit pizza is to preheat the oven. I prefer to use the Pillsbury Sugar Cookie dough because it is easy to bake, but you can always choose to make a homemade crust if that is what you prefer. Based on the directions of the packaged cookie dough, you need to preheat the oven to 350ºF (or 325ºF for a nonstick cookie sheet). Prepare a 9x13 inch pan by applying a light layer of cooking spray, then evenly spread out the two tubes of the sugar cookie dough with your hands. The dough should be about one-half to an inch thick to ensure the crust bakes evenly. Then, put it in the oven for 13-15 minutes.

While the dough is baking, start preparing the frosting. I prefer to make homemade, but the Pillsbury Cream Cheese frosting is a good alternative if you are in a hurry. The recipe I use only has one step, but still tastes amazing. All you have to do is combine room temperature cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer on medium speed. Continue to mix until it has a creamy consistency with no lumps, then set aside.
Once you have completed the frosting, begin cutting up the fruit. There are endless options on the type and number of toppings you use. I like to use strawberries, kiwi, grapes, blueberries, raspberries, and mandarin oranges. Slice the fruit into small pieces and set them aside. If fruit is not in season, frozen fruit is another good option.

Now it is time to prepare the pizza. A crucial step is letting the crust cool completely. If you do not allow the crust to cool, it will cause the frosting to melt and make it harder to spread. So, once you have allowed the crust to chill, you can layer on the frosting. Finally, add all of the fruit to the top. You can combine all of the fruit together and then add it, but I prefer to add each one at a time.
