In the past, people were predicting we would have flying cars and insane technology by now. So far, we do have some rather interesting devices along with people attempting to create flying cars, but it is nothing like people expected. One thing that cannot be overlooked is how far we have come. Technology may not be as outrageous as predicted, but we have made technological advances that will continue to happen throughout the years. Are our predictions going to be more accurate about the future, or will they be proven wrong just like they have been? So, what are we predicting will happen in 10, 20, or even 50 years?
Thinking about how technology will change ten years from now, it is hard to imagine how advanced everything will be. When looking at the amount of time past advancements have taken, ten years does not seem very long. Don't get me wrong, a lot can happen in ten years, considering how advanced our world is today. Therefore, my predictions for the next ten years are fairly simple. Apple is one of the most popular technology brands today, so my first guess is they will come out with a sort of new hybrid of technology. Along with Apple advances, many other new brands will release more handy and wearable technology. Today, people are obsessed with convenient technology. This is why devices like the Apple Watch are so popular. You have almost all of the capabilities of an iPhone on your wrist. Virtual reality is also becoming extremely popular. Although it is mainly for entertainment, people love finding new ways to escape daily life. Virtual reality machines are pretty hard to come by today, but I believe they will soon be more readily available.
I feel like real advancements will be made in the next 20 years. When I think about what the world will be like, I imagine real advancements in transportation. We currently have self-driving cars, for the most part. They only allow self-driving for a limited period of time and are not overly reliable when preventing accidents. This is why I think cars will be able to be completely automatic and will require little to no work. Also, cars are already becoming gas-less and are using electric power instead. Unfortunately, the car will most likely be completely electric-powered. This will decrease the amount of pollution, but will not benefit farmers who are selling crops to make gasoline. I can't even begin to imagine what the world of technology will be like in fifty years. Like I stated before, fifty years ago, people were expecting us to have incredibly advanced technology. We do not have flying cars, are still printing on paper, and are wearing normal clothing. I assume a new technology brand will come out and wipe out Apple. Apple currently is having problems concerning the reliability of their products. It could be fairly simple for someone to come out with similar products, with higher reliability.
As you can see, technology is advancing by the second. Without a doubt, the future of technology is going to be revolutionary. Today, we are constantly being amazed by new products being released and look forward to what is to come.
