I have been very fortunate in my life because of my parents' love of travel. I have taken numerous road trips around the country and have made some of the best memories with my family. These experiences have made me realize just how much I love to explore different parts of the world. I think everyone should be able to experience what I have and more. There are endless things many people are yet to see, and many have not even left their home state. Travelling gives people a glimpse into different cultures and inspires people to try new things.
Because of the recent pandemic, we were forced to stay in our homes. While staying home was meant to help, it also had negative effects on people - one of which was depression. Luckily, traveling has proven to relieve stress and alleviate depression. Whether you are taking a trip to another country or simply going on a weekend trip, getting away can make a world of difference. Although there are new restrictions, now more than ever it is important to get out and explore. This summer, I took a trip to Dallas, Texas. We did not do much, but it felt good to get out of the house and experience something new.

If you are the type of person wanting to avoid mask-wearing and having a vaccine, I would suggest taking road trips instead of flying and researching places with few restrictions. Not only is it easier to avoid these, but it also, in my opinion, gives a better overall experience. I have taken trips by car and plane, but I now know you get to experience so much more when you drive. Driving gives you opportunities to see small tourist attractions you would never know about if you flew. While it does elongate the trip, the memories make it all worth it.
Memories made on trips last a lifetime, but one way I have brought my memories home with me is by collecting souvenir magnets. I have traveled to over 25 states and picked out cool magnets in each of them. Sometimes, I even buy more than one for each state based on the activities we did there. For example, I took a road trip to San Diego in 2016. While I did collect a magnet for each state, I have over five from San Diego because we spent more time and did more while we were there. My magnets are some of my most valuable possessions and I hope to collect one from each state and around the world.

I would not trade the memories I have made for anything and plan on making many more in the future. This is why I highly encourage everyone to explore the world if they are able. Especially in times like this, it is crucial to see the way other people are living. It may make you appreciate or make you want to rethink the way you are living. Go create memories that will give you a better outlook on life instead of waiting for it to get better on its own.

Food for Thought
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Do you think people should be required to get the vaccine before travelling?
Do you think travelling is an effective way to relieve stress? Why or why not?
