Technology in Real Estate


Imagine what our world would be like without social media and technology. One of the biggest impacts it would have is the effect on businesses. Today, when you are on social media, advertisements are almost everywhere you look. Businesses create these advertisements to catch your eye and make you want to visit their site. As annoying as ads are, they are extremely effective and a major factor in the popularity of a business. Some actually rely heavily on ad success because it may be their only way to connect to their consumers. Advances in technology are also helping to make companies more appealing.



In the future, I plan to major in business economics and minor in marketing. This makes it easier to get a license to become a realtor. Real estate is a career that is heavily impacted by technology and social media. It is becoming a technology-driven platform because most people begin their search for homes online. Some may start looking by purchasing apps or seeing ads for different homes and real estate agencies. Without these, it would be much harder for agents to get clients. Social media allows agents to get and stay in contact with their customers and brokers.













Being able to connect with clients plays a big role in real estate. One of the easiest ways to connect with these people is by contacting them online, which is why I must have multiple accounts on different social media platforms. Some of the most engaging platforms are Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Being active will give me a wider range of clientele because I will be reaching different demographics. Social media is actually proven to be one of the most effective ways to put your name out there. Not only will I be able to advertise myself, but it will also make it extremely easy for people to find my contact information. Buying a home can be stressful, but through the use of this technology, staying connected and creating schedules is easier than ever before.



One type of technology that is becoming more and more popular is virtual reality. This may be surprising, but people seeing a home in 3-D without having to leave their own is very appealing. By making this available, I will be attracting more families because of its simplicity. A not-so-new benefit is Artificial Intelligence and algorithms. Algorithms have been around for a while, but they are becoming more efficient and accurate. Algorithms make it easier to see what a person is looking for and what ads to give them based on their activity. It will make it easier to match home styles and prices to my clients.



As you can see, technology and social media play a significant role in our world today. Without it, we would not be able to learn more about people and businesses as easily. With the click of a button, you can quickly discover information on almost anything. In real estate, it makes it extremely easy for realtors to stay in contact with their clients and attract new ones. Advancements will continue to be made and be even more helpful in the future.
